Getting Started With Simpleread
Welcome to Simpleread! This guide will help you get started, from adding your first books to making the most out of features. Let’s dive in!
Adding Books to Your Library
To start reading, you’ll first need to upload your eBooks to Simpleread. Here’s how to do it.
Step-by-Step: Uploading Your First Book
- Go to the Home Page: When you log in,
you’ll always begin on the Home page. If this is your first time, your
library will be empty.
- Click the “+” Button: At the bottom of the
screen, you’ll see a button with a “+” icon. Click it to upload books
from your device.
Customizing Your Reading Display
Once you’ve added a book, take a moment to adjust the display settings to fit your preferences. Simpleread offers several basic settings that make reading comfortable and enjoyable.
Display Settings Overview
- Font Size and Style: Adjust the size and
choose a font style that’s easy on the eyes.
- Page Width and Theme:
Modify the width of the page to create a layout that suits your reading style.
Simpleread also offers a light or dark theme.
- Paragraph and Line Spacing:
Customize spacing to control the density of text, making it easier to read
for long periods.
- Page Style and Text Alignment:
Choose between scroll, one-page, or two-page formats and align text as left,
center, right, or justified.
Highlights and Notes: Enhancing Your Reading
One of the most enriching aspects of Simpleread is the ability to highlight passages and jot down notes. These features help you capture insights, memorable quotes, and key ideas.
How to Highlight and Take Notes
- Select Text: Begin by selecting the text
you want to highlight. This will open a popup with a set of 10 color
choices displayed above it.
- Choose a Color:
Click on one of the colors to highlight the text, which will automatically
save it as a note.
- Viewing Notes:
You can view the note immediately in the right-side panel or access all your
notes later through the Notes page, where notes from across all your books
are organized.
Fullscreen Mode for Focused Reading
Simpleread’s Fullscreen Mode offers a completely immersive reading experience by hiding all non-essential elements, allowing you to focus solely on the text. With only a small fullscreen button in the top right (visible initially), the interface is designed to stay out of the way so you can fully enjoy your book.
How to Use Fullscreen Mode
- Entering Fullscreen Mode: You can enter
Fullscreen Mode by clicking the Fullscreen icon in the reading view or
by pressing the “F” key. All side tabs, such as chapters and notes, will
automatically close, but you can access the navbar at any time by
hovering over it—it will appear temporarily and then disappear if not
interacted with.
- Exiting Fullscreen:
To exit Fullscreen Mode, press “F” on your keyboard or click the fullscreen
button in the top right. This allows for a seamless return to your original
reading setup, with any previously closed tabs reopening as you left them
(this setting can be customized).
